Intra Oral Camera

Intra Oral Camera

While x-rays provide valuable information that we can’t get from any other source, they can’t show you everything that is going on in your mouth. That’s why we have invested in an intraoral camera-a highly advanced piece of diagnostic equipment that allows you to see what we see inside your mouth. The intraoral camera is approximately the size of dental mirror with built-in light source, and also this allow patients and doctor to look at the same page, which is called “Co-Diagnosis”

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

We use digital x-rays, which has significant advantages over film-based radiography, including far less radiation and greater efficiency. There is no need for processing in a darkroom. Images quickly appear on the computer monitors in our treatment rooms, and they can be instantly viewed by our doctor. Plus digital x-rays allow the doctor to get a much better view of your teeth and potential dental conditions. The digital imaging software allows the doctor to see a number of different views of the tooth to gain a better understanding of the proper course of management.

Osstell is the latest device to measure implant stability using resonance frequency analysis (RFA). It is necessary to determine the degree of osseointegration of dental implants with bone for a successful implant treatment. With Osstell, now we can objectively measure the stability of implant when loading implants.

Surgybone Piezoelectric Ultrasonic Bone Surgery

Surgybone Piezoelectric Ultrasonic Bone Surgery

In order to place an implant that will be most successful, it may be necessary to modify the jawbone to create the most ideal site to receive the implant. Piezosurgery is often used to perform those surgeries that are needed.

Piezosurgery is a recently developed system for cutting bone without damaging soft tissue using ultrasonic micro-vibrations. Developed for use in Oral Surgery, Implantology, and Periodontics, this innovative technology allows doctors to perform procedures that were not previously possible.

Traditional methods of bone-cutting (i.e.: drills and burs) can result in some tissue and bone loss no matter how careful and precise the doctor may be. Piezosurgery eliminates this risk. Instead of drilling, Piezosurgery uses ultrasonic vibrations produced by a special surgical instrument to achieve unparalleled precision and patient comfort.

We are able to perform procedures such as extractions, crown lengthening, periodontal therapy, and implant site preparation with increased accuracy and minimal discomfort. Leading doctors across the country are achieving consistently positive results using Piezosurgery. Patients are seeing amazing results with faster healing time, less swelling, and less post-operative pain!

Air Abrasion Machine

Air Abrasion Machine

When decay is detected early stage, air abrasion machine is used to remove decays. Air abrasion is a process of in which tiny aluminum oxide particles are used in a very strong stream of air to create sort of a particle beam. This entire process is done in a matter of seconds with no heat, noise, or vibration. Not only does this make it painless, but it is very gentle to the teeth. It is the most conservative and best restorative service that we can provide for our patients.

ViziLite Plus

ViziLite Plus

Roger Joseph Ebert, the most famous film critic, died of oral cancer in 2013. The oral cancer is very deadly and often times oral cancers are not found until it is too late.

Once it is diagnosed with oral cancer, the survival rate is less than 5-7%.

The advanced screening we use in our office is called Vizilite Plus. The Vizilite Plus exam uses an acidic solution to temporarily dry the tissues in your mouth. You will swish and spit this solution to ensure that it reaches all of the tissues in your mouth. Then a test specific light is used to illuminate your tissue. Any suspicious lesions will appear to glow.

If a suspicious lesion is found, the dentist will use T-Blue dye. This dye stains any tissue that has been mutated and may be pre-cancerous. This allows our doctors to better evaluate the lesion under normal light. At this point, the lesion may be biopsied. Our dentists may do a simple brush biopsy to find out if the lesion is cancerous. The other option is to be referred to an oral surgeon for the biopsy.

Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF)

Our blood has many beneficial components for wound healing and regeneration of vital tissues. Among these components, platelets and growth factors are centrifuged and collected for oral surgery such as implant, extraction, and bone graft. This aggregate of platelets and growth factors are called “Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF)”. The PRF allows doctors to help patients for faster healing process and better surgical outcomes. Dr. Lee has implemented the PRF since 2007 for all his surgical procedures.
