Dental Implant
Case 1
Before
This patient came to our office desperately needing help with missing front tooth due to failing root canal. Note that her adjacent teeth were so perfect in term of shade and gum symmetry. This is one of the most challenged cases for any implantologist.
After
Implant was placed at the time of extraction with 3-D bone grafting as well. Due to existing infection, she had severe bone on the front tooth. But now we were able to turn it around with single surgery for extraction, implant, and bone grafting thanks to Dr. Lee's surgical expertise. Since then, the gum tissue was molded to ideal shape and final E.max crown and Zirconia custom-abutment was installed. Patient was excited with natural even gum level and final surgical outcome.
Case 2
Before
This patient came to our office for something permanent for his front tooth. He was Taekwondo master and lost his front tooth due to a kick thrown by his student. Sine then, he had been using temporary denture to cover this missing tooth. Now he is ready for something more permanent functionally and esthetically.
After
A single implant was placed with necessary bone grafting and gum tissue was molded to ideal shape. Now the tooth was restored with a retrievable zirconia screw-retained crown. Note that uneven gum line and bone concavity before treatment. Patient was very happy with the final treatment outcome and he did not have to wear his temporary denture.
Case 3
Before
This patient was missing a front lateral tooth for a long time since he had facial trauma. Now he wanted something permanent to restore the missing tooth.
After
He was absolutely thrilled with the final treatment outcome. A single implant was placed with proper bone graft. After several months later, the tooth was restored with titanium custom abutment (metal stud connecting implant and crown) and porcelain crown. Now this implant has brought back his smile with proper function and esthetic.
Case 4
Before
This patient has been coming to my office for long time. First she did know anything about dental implants until Dr. Lee explained how her edentulous mouth can be restored with implants. She was also concerned about her upper teeth sagging down due to missing teeth on the bottom.
After
Sine she was very afraid of any dental surgery, the implant placement was done flapless meaning no gum cutting surgery. With 3D CT scan, surgery was kept to the very minimum. Porcelain bridge was restored after several months later. She was so happy with the even balance of her bite and enhanced ability to chew better. She was no longer dentally crippled.
Case 5
Before
This patient had to lose her bridge on lower left side because of recurrent decay underneath the bridged teeth. She was missing a big portion of her bite and this missing teeth made her limp her bite. When limping on one side of mouth, that puts a lot of more pressure on other teeth, which had caused more problem with other teeth.
After
Doing implant surgery on the back side of the mouth is always difficult since space is very limited and there are more vital anatomical structures such as nerve bundle and artery running closely. She was very happy with the implants and crowns.
Case 6
Before
The patient was referred by other dentist for extraction and implant placement; however, he was about to relocate to different area next 6 month. Patient was concerned if everything can be finished before his relocation.
After
The solution was an immediate implant placement at the time of extraction. Also sinus bone augmentation was done as well. Our patient is very privileged since Dr. Lee can condense several procedure into one surgery rather than having multiple surgeries. Patient was excited because we were able to restore his tooth within 5 months. The implant was restored with retrievable screw-retained zirconia crown. Patient was very happy with the final surgical outcome.
Case 7
Before
This patient was chewing some pop corn and heard some crack sound. The tooth was fractured vertically and was hopeless, requiring extraction.
After
A dental implant was placed immediately after the extraction. When possible, this immediate implant placement makes the healing much easier and can speed up the whole procedure. The total treatment period only takes 4-5 months to finish. This is much faster when comparing conventional delayed approach. Now she was so happy to have her tooth back. The implant was restored with retrievable screw-retained zirconia crown. This premium crown has several benefits: the crown does not require dental cement which sometimes causes implant failure. Also zirconia crown is the strongest tooth color material next metal in the current dental field.
Case 8
Before
This patient had upper front bridge for a long time. But there was recurrent decay underneath the anchor tooth. Patient had no symptom since the tooth had root canal treatment. When attempting to remove the decay, there was much tooth structure left to build new bridge. Implant treatment was the solution, but the case was very challenged because the edentulous space was too big for one implant but too small for two regular implants.
After
Two implants were placed at the time of extraction to conserve the most of the bone. One of the implants was smaller diameter in order to fit into the tight space. When two implants were close to each other, we lost some gum tissue between the crowns. But patient was so excited that he can floss his teeth and does not have to worry about any decay between bridge.
Case 9
Before
This patient was referred to our office for an extraction and immediate implant placement. Her crown came out but there was not much tooth structure left, requiring extraction.
After
The remaining tooth was carefully removed and sinus bone augmentation was done with implant placement. She was so thrilled that she could have her toot back after 5 months. After healing, retrievable screw-retained E. max crown was restored. And she was so happy with her new smile.
Case 10
Before
This patient had a bridge on her upper right side of mouth. But the bridge was failing due to neglected gum disease and infection around those teeth. The teeth were hopeless requiring extraction.
After
When the bridge teeth were removed, two immediate implants were placed with sinus bone augmentation. There was so much infection that patient lost quite amount of bone. Dr. Lee was able to remove all the infected bone structure and reconstruct bone and sinus floor as well. Sometimes neglected gum disease can do much more damage than we thought. Now she was so happy about her restored bite and it was also esthetically pleasing.
Case 11
Before
This patient had a bridge on the upper right side of her mouth. She had always difficult time to clean the bridge since she could not floss them. Because of this, the bridge had recurrent decay underneath the anchor teeth, which led to the bridge dislodgment. But we could not restore those teeth due to lack of enough teeth structure.
After
After: Two anchor teeth were removed atraumatically and three dental implants were placed per patient's request for individualized teeth. Also sinus bone augmentation was done as well to increase her bone thickness. Now she was so thrilled that she could floss these individual tooth and did not have to worry about any decay. Total treatment period was 5 months.
Case 12
Before
This patient had root canal treatment a long time ago but never got to restore the tooth with permanent crown. She came in for broken tooth but the tooth was fractured vertically, requiring extraction.
After
Fractured tooth was removed and implant was placed at the same time along with sinus bone augmentation. Thanks to Dr. Lee's surgical expertise, individual surgical procedure like extraction, implant, and sinus bone augmentation was condensed into one surgical appointment. This immediate implant and bone augmentation helps patients with less trauma and minimum number of surgery. She was very happy with final outcome and she got something to smile on.
